kgb Agents– Tuscaloosa to Panama City

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Oh I come from Alabamy with a banjo on my knee.

Well, not quite.

Special Agent Damschroder here. Today was a day of twists and turns. We began the day in Tuscaloosa, AL, packing up out squad cars to head south to Florida for Spring Break. As we put our keys in the ignitions, we got a call from the local television station saying that they’d like to do a story on us. Off we sped to the University of Alabama to meet with the news team. After a couple victory laps and an interview, we headed out for Panama City Beach, Fl. We’ll be in Panama City Beach for most of the week, so come say hello and get yourself a special KGB T-shirt!

kgb Agents on the Ground: Houston Wants to Know About the Economy

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Houstonians, like most Americans, have lots of questions about the state of the U.S. economy. Here are some our kgb Special Agents were asked:

How can the US get out of the recession period?
When is the revolution?
What will be the market bottom?
Will unemployment get getter?
When will Houston’s economy improve?
How did we, as Americans, let this country go to hell in a handbasket?
How much money is coming to Houston from the Stimulus budget?
How low will the S&P 500 go?
What do you think about the auto-bailout?
Why did the economy get so bad?
When will the economy recover?
Why don’t we have free health care in the US?
Why was it justified to bail out the auto companies?

kgb On the Way to Tuscaloosa

Monday, March 9th, 2009
Special Agent Jame:
On the road again….deep in the heart of M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I. Well, actually–to be honest it was through Texas, Louisanna (Hello again LA!), Mississippi, and then Alabama! The second state in alphabetical order. Booyah! We’ve arrived in ALABAMA!
It was a ten hour drive and our carvan was split up and hot on the trail of competition. Who would be first to arrive in Tuscaloosa Alabama? I’ll allow Agent Taylor aka Agent Swamp Rat to indulge further.
I was more interested with the roadkill we encountered beside the road and with the state troopers that pulled over a total of four people in the state of Mississippi alone!

What’s the average mph OVER the speed limit do most drivers go on the highway? Text it up road warriors. 542 542
We’ll catch you in Tuscaloosa tomorrow.

March 6th, 2009

Kgb Special Agent Shannon

Arriving in Houston March 5th, 2009, we checked-in, then went on our mission to scope out locations. We hunted down college campus radio stations including KTRU at Rice University and University of Houston KUHF. We ended up being invited to an event at the Discovery Green Park downtown Houston Friday, where we encountered some of the most intrigued patrons for a live concert. Live music, great crowd, and beautiful weather summed-up our kgb Houston exciting beginnings.

Signing off…til next time.

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

kgb Special Agents went to the UT-Austin campus Wednesday to find out what questions Austin students really want answers to.

Here are just ten of the hundreds of questions we collected:
What’s a good place to eat around campus?
Why do hummingbirds fly backwards?
Where is the best sushi in the city?
What is the Dow going to bottom out at?
Is the national deficit going to be double by 2020?
How many teeth do sharks have?
What’s Steven Crane’s most famous book?
What is Keynesian theory?
How many beers could I go for right now. How many is “safe work”?
Why is chipotle so amazing?

Then, Wednesday night, kgb hosted a barbecue party on the rooftop at 23rd and Pearl. More on that later.
